The Return Home

This is Target Theory.

Thanks to an insatiable itch that had to be scratched, I’ve returned to the blogging world under WordPress after nearly nine-month hiatus. It just became too difficult to not write my thoughts out for the public realm and much has transpired and changed in who I am today than I was then. Suffice to say, I still write in my patented style and continue to maintain my “trafficking of information” tendencies… hence, The Merovingian rises once again.

Much has to be said and much still has to be done but Target Theory lives on… though some elements of the prior incarnation of the blog on Blogger will not move forward. Gone are the randomized graphic banners at the top. Gone are the song lyrics at the bottom of each posting. However, I will continue to post the graphic art that became synonymous with my postings as WordPress allows more that can be done with these beautiful works of art.

Since my departure from the blogging realm I’ve immersed myself in a few activities but my abilities as a writer have suffered. I’ve forgotten how to write and I’ve forgotten how to communicate. All of my beautiful-yet-ultimately-meaningless observations were lost. All of my twisted-and-subtle metaphors and analogies now had no audience to entertain. This must change. It will change.

For anyone who’s a writer, they know what I mean. For anyone who’s not a writer, they should become one. It’s a thirst that has to be quenched and one can wander in the desert for only so long before they need a drink or collapse from dehydration. I tried stuffing myself with sand in hopes that a drop of moisture could be obtained to keep me going but that didn’t work. Sand doesn’t taste very good.

Ahlan wa sahlan… I hope through your writing you are able to achieve what it is that you seek and find it to be even more fruitful this time around, insha’Allah wa ameen. I look forward to reading your renewed insights, insha’Allah! :)

Welcome back … can I say I told you so?! :D

2 years? Isn’t that a bit of an exaggeration? :P In any case, let’s hope your blog is less serious and more entertaining this time around…though I somehow doubt that.

Thanks everyone – we’ll see in due time what the future has in store with this blog and if I find what it is that I seek through it. :)

It’s been nearly 2 years, no? When exactly did I stop my blog? I don’t remember anymore…

It’s been less than a year. Your last post on your old blog was written after Sakeenah was born, and the Montreal hockey tournament in November 2007.

No way – I closed my old blog WELL before that point last year because I remember that I closed it sometime BEFORE the summer. I closed it in early 2007! You’re just crazy… that’s just crazy talk! :)

An excerpt of your last post:
“More importantly, I got to see my new niece who was born this past weekend – it’s always great to welcome someone so new (and so adorably cute) to the family. I’ve never really found newborn babies to be cute just because they don’t really do anything and are usually a delicate little ball of wrinkled skin when they’re born… babies are cute when they’re 1 or 2 months old. However, this niece was really cute already which was great… I look forward to her becoming even cuter over the next many months.” (Dated November 19th, 2007)

(It’s all still available in my Google Reader).

Whaaaaaaaaaa?! It’s been almost a month since you brought this back and I find out just now? You need to import these to Facebook or at least post a Note saying you brought the blog back.

Also it sucks you’re not gonna do the song quote thing anymore. You know that’s one of the things I like a lot about your blog. :P

I did post it on Facebook… maybe I’ll re-post it again on Facebook.

Hmm, really? Maybe I’ll do that then if people really liked it. It just required me to think of clever song lyrics and that was surprisingly time-consuming.
